356 Squadron (We Bring Freedom And Assistance). Liberator aircraft KN 752 was hit by enemy fire during a low level attack against an enemy airfield at Benkoelen in south-east Sumatra. Flying Officer McBride was the only casualty. This was to be a high level raid but the new British pilot, a Group Captain, went in at low level, the Canadian survivors were; LLoyd Fife, Earl McMillan, Len McDonald, and Harry Bray.
