75 New Zealand Squadron (Ake Ake Kia Kaha). Stirling aircraft was taking off when the starboard undercarriage hit an obstruction. The aircraft crashed north-west of the July Race Course, Newmarket. Six of the crew, not Canadians, were also killed.
addendum 2: See page 411. Stirling aircraft R 9245 (AA-E) was taking off on a
mine laying op off Bordeaux, France when the starboard undercarriage hit an obstruction. Four RNZAF members of the crew, Sgt.s E.W. Harvey, B.A. Franklin, W.H. Whitcombe, H.R. Welch,
E.J. Burbridge (RAF), and T. Pascoe (RAF) were also killed.
