Stirling aircraft N 3658 missing from bombing operations. Sergeants J.T. Corbett (RAF), K.L. Rowley (RAF), Flying Officer F.J. Needham (RAF), FS R.A. Ross (RAF), and Squadron Leader J. Vivian (RAF) were also killed. One of the crew, not Canadian, missing believed killed.

The aircraft failed to return having been attacked by a Bf 110 night fighter (Lt. Kurt Loos from 2./NJG 1 - 3rd combat victory) 10 km SSW of Herwijnen and shot down, crashing at 'De Morsheuvel' farm, occupied by the Welles family, 14 km SW of Nijmegen at 02:33 hours.
