182 Squadron (Fearless I Direct My Flight). Flying Officer Jackson was on an armed reconnaissance over the Fettenburg and Hamburg areas of Germany and was attacking enemy shipping on the Elbe River when his Typhoon aircraft SW 412 was hit by flak. Flying Officer Jackson radioed he was bailing out but no parachute was seen. The Typhoon went down in flames 47 miles north of Berlin one and one half miles south-east of Wusterhausen, Germany.
