190 Squadron. The crew of Stirling aircraft LJ 822 were engaged on secret operations when their aircraft crashed and burned at Knighton Farm, Hampreston, near Wimborne, Dorset, England. Five of the crew, not Canadians, were also killed. addendum 2: See page 290. FS.s P. Croudis (RNZAF), D.J. Sampson (RNZAF), Sgts. LE. Ziersch (RAAF), and J.W. Mitchell (RAF) were also killed.
