1917-05-27: Gray OK in BE2e, A-2932; completely wrecked in landing Abeele aerodrome on travelling flight.
1917-06-27: temporary duty with 27Sqn.
1917-08-16: Gray missing in RE-8, A 3856; on contact patrol Langemarck - Winnipeg road. His pilot, 2Lt Douglas Townsend, (British) was also missing. Both were later accepted as dead.
