1916-11-21: to be 2nd-Lieutenant, RFC. 1917-10-02: posted to 101Sqn, France. 1917-10-17: Fleming was missing in FE2b, A-801; from a bombing raid. His air-gunner, 2Lt Ernest Cecil Stewart Ringer was also missing. Later that day they were reported shot down and both made POWs. Fleming was repatriated 1918-12-05.
