175 Squadron (Stop At Nothing). Pilot Officer Finlayson was flying Typhoon aircraft JR 311 and was engaged in a fighter escort operation to Le Havre. He pulled up out of a dive at a speed of over 500 MPH and was killed when the aircraft crashed after the tail broke off.
