It is signed by the late Bill Bryant RAF who was the navigator of that aircraft piloted by Bob Boorman RCAF. The caption reads "This Stars Stripes photograph was taken on 14 September 1944 and shows a Mosquito Mk XIII of 409 Squadron RCAF. 40 Squadron (Hostem A Coelo Expellere). Wellington aircraft X 9619 lost during bombing operations over enemy-held territory. Sergeants H.R.G. Chapman (RAF), P.F. Collis (RAF), R.A. Dundon (RAF), Pilot Officer I.M.V. Field (RNZAF), and Flying Officer E.J. Stagg (RAAF) were also killed.
