Took off from Mildenhall at 21:58 in Wellington Mk Ic (Sqn code OJ-B Bomber Command) on an operation to Brest France (German Battlecruiser Prince Eugen).

Aircraft was reported to have crashed alongside the ship and it was thought they managed to drop a bomb which seriously damaged the ship and resulted in the loss of sixty German sailors
