1917-02-10: Coutts died in SE5, B-563 when it spun off a steep, low turn at Castle Bromwich aerodrome. The engine caught fire around 300 feet before the crash, causing the wreckage to burn. AC2 Frederick Thomas Sprules, RNAS, (British) was killed on the ground when struck by the flaming aircraft.
