Took off from Honington at 23:40 in Wellington Mk Ic (Sqn code WS-? Bomber Command) on an operation to Cologne Germany.

Aircraft was coned by searchlights. shot down by a night fighter and crashed at 01:15 near Maastricht (Limburg) Holland. The aircrew managed to bale from their aircraft but all were killed because they were too low for their parachutes to deploy.
