Took off from Croft at 17:20 in Whitley Mk V (Sqn code EY- Bomber Command) on an operation to Rotterdam Holland.

Aircraft shot down by friendly fire from flak ships off the Essex coast and crashed at 19:05 into the sea near the Cork Lightship off Harwich. Crew were all killed.
