219 Sqn (From Dusk Till Dawn) RAF Scorton, Beaufighter VI F aircraft X 8202 crashed at Scorton Railway Station, Richmond, Yorkshire, landing with one engine out following a night Ground Controlled Interception training flight. Radio Technician Flying Officer TR Brownfield (RCAF), FS HJ Beswick (RAFVR) and Pilot Officer ECS Wilson-Steele (RAFVR) killed (R Allenby). Flying Officer Brownfield had trained in radio before enlisting and was possibly one of the Canadians requested for radar work by the RAF.
