194 Squadron. Dakota III aircraft FL 540 was transporting troops to the British 14th Army when it overshot the runway and crashed into a hill at Aberdeen Airstrip, Burma. Flying Officer N Bridges (RCAF)(USA), Flight Lieutenant RG Mellsop (RNZAF) and Flight Lieutenant JR Scott (RAFVR) were killed. No records found to date of army casualties aboard aircraft. Flying Officer Bridges has no known grave and is commemorated on the Singapore War Memorial.
