131 Squadron (Invicta) RAF Atcham, Spitfire IIa aircraft P 8546 crashed due to engine failure during an air-to-air firing practice exercise. The pilot attempted to make a forced landing, but lost control of the aircraft in the final stage of the approach when it stalled and flicked onto its back, diving into the ground. The Spitfire was destroyed by the impact and the pilot Sergeant DAE Bremner (RCAF) was killed when the aircraft crashed at Tryddyn, Wales. Sergeant Bremner was the brother of Sergeant FC Bremner (RCAF), 73 Sqn, Killed 1944-06-26 Detail from aviation-safety.net
