210 Squadron (Yn V Nwyfre Ynhedfan) Pembroke Dock RAF Station Sunderland I aircraft L 2165, returning at night from Anti-Submarine Patrol, became lost, requested D/F bearings but by the time they found St. Ann's Lighthouse, fuel was exhausted and the aircraft crashed into sea.
Pilot Officer GW Brant (RAF)(Can), Flight Lieutenant TI Davies (RAF), Cpl RW Ewens (RAF), AC2 J Moss (RAF), AC1 M Murphy (RAF), AC2 WJ O'Brien (RAF), AC1 WA Soanes (RAF), and P/O, GW Sutton (RAF)(NZ) were killed. AC1 FJ Soffe (RAF) missing, believed killed.
