234 Squadron (Ignem Mortemque Despdimus) Spitfire Ia aircraft N 3191 crashed returning from a convoy patrol over the English Channel after losing it's wings in a dive. Pilot Officer WL Beech (RAFVR)(Can) was killed (www.spitfires.ukf.net). Pilot Officer Beech was a Biggs' Boy (K. Stofer) and BROTHER to Sergeant Stanley Percy Beech (RCAF), who was missing believed killed1944-05-25 on 51 Sqn Halifax III aircraft LK 885. Biggs Boys were a group of young Canadians who paid there own way to England early in the war to join the RAF.
