53 Squadron (United in Effort) (Coastal Command) The second part of the mission was to bomb invasion barges in the Pas-de-Calais area. Airraft came down at Hardinghen, Pas-de-Calais, 12 miles south of Calais. Flying Officer Bardolph was badly injured in the crash and died 1940 -08-17 in hospital. Sergeant I Inskip (RAF) missing. Flying Officer PJ Coleman (RAF) evaded but was taken Prisoner of War.
