94 Squadron (Avenge). FS Rochfort was engaged in a mock dog fight when his Kittyhawk aircraft AK 807 went into an inverted spin at 10,000 feet. He could not recover and was killed when his aircraft crashed twenty miles south-east of Landing Ground 115.
