355 Squadron (Liberamus Per Caerula). Liberator aircraft EV 902 was engaged in a bombing operation over northern Burma and was flying in a formation at 1,000 feet when it collided with another Liberator aircraft. Flying Officer Fitzgerald's aircraft went into a spin and both aircraft crashed near Chinya Village, Burma. Sixteen airmen, not Canadians, were also killed.
