It is signed by the late Bill Bryant RAF who was the navigator of that aircraft piloted by Bob Boorman RCAF. The caption reads "This Stars Stripes photograph was taken on 14 September 1944 and shows a Mosquito Mk XIII of 409 Squadron RCAF. Hostetter was an American citizen who came to Toroto to enlist in the RFC in December, 1917. 1918-04-05: posted to 54Sqn 1918-04-11: Hostetter wounded in Camel, C-8287, turned on nose on landing after hit by enemy fire on OP. 1918-09-19: posted to 3Sqn 1918-09-27: Hostetter missing in Camel F-2158, last seen at 4,000 feet in combat with 8 Fokker D.7s while on special mission. Lt Hostetter missing, presumed dead.
