Formerly 24th Canadian Horse Regiment 1916-08-29: Whiteman was posted to 3 Sqn, RFC, flying the Morane Parasol monoplane. His written WWI history ends 1917-06-01 with his promotion to Lieutenant. Nothing more is written after this date. His observer in the Morane, 2nd-Lieut Leonard Gellatly (British) also survived the crash. Died of TB, 1938
