Corey was born on a farm in Quebec. He enlisted in the 87th Btn CEF (Canadian Grenadier Guards) early in 1915. He transferred to the RFC as an observer early in 1917. He was the top scoring observer (6 victories) by the end of the war. His regular pilot was an American, Cptn Roy Dodds.
