50 Squadron (From Defence To Attack). Lancaster aircraft ED 488 lost near St Trond, Belgium while engaged in operations to Cologne, Germany. One Canadian, Flying Officer T.H. Church, was taken Prisoner of War and five members of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. Flying Officer Pilot Power was buried at St Trond, exhumed, and reburied in the War Cemetery, Heverlee, Brabant, Belgium.
