Flight Lieutenant Oldham had previously been employed as teller and accountant with the Royal Bank of Canada at two branches in Vancouver, British Columbia from July 1938 until he enlisted in October 1941

Upon completion of his training Flight Lieutenant Oldham graduated third in a class of 1942 pilots and was posted as staff pilot instructor at #5 Bombing and Gunnery School in Dafoe, Saskatchewan. He was posted overseas in October 1944 and attached to 603 Squadron RCAF

605 (I) Sqn (RAF) RAF Blackbushe

605 County of Warwick Squadron (Nunquam Dormio) RAF Blackbushe. Mosquito VI aircraft PZ 349 UP-P was lost while on an armed reconnaissance operation over north-west Germany. The cause of loss was not deternined but the Mosquito crashed at Hoog Buurlo, Radio Kootwijk, Gelderland, Netherlands with the loss of both crew members

Both pilot, Flight Lieutenant WG Oldham (RCAF) and navigator, Sergeant JF Fry (RAFVR) were killed in action
