298Squadron. The crew of Halifax aircraft NA 103 were making a night supply drop to Norwegian agents when they took a direct hit from enemy flak. The aircraft blew up in the air, caught fire and then crashed in the sea off the south coast of Norway. P/O.s C.A. Holmlund, H.Lochhead, F/O.s E.A. Innes, A. Kotyk, and one of the crew, not Canadian, were also killed. In August, 1988 a cairn was erected near the crash site on Hisoy Island in honour of this aircrew. Flying Officer Pilot Edick is buried on the Island of Hisoy, Norway. addendum 2: See page 207. FS.s W.G. Godfrey (RAF), and R. Bensley (RAF) were also killed.
