426 Thunderbird Squadron (On Wings of Fire) Linton-on-Ouse, Halifax VII aircraft NP741 OW-K lost during a daylight trip to Wanne-Eickel, Germany when hit by flak. The pilot, Flight Lieutenant P L Buck AFC (RCAF) maintained control long enough for his crew to bale and went down with the aircraft, which crashed at Weedeweg road, Dordrecht, Zuid-Holland. He survived the crash but died later of his injuries.

Flying Officer W Sloan (RCAF) survived to be taken Prisoner of War. Killed: Flying Officer Percy Lloyd Buck AFC RCAF J/23022 KIA Bergen-Op-Zoom Canadian War Cemetery grave 8. F. 12.
