It is signed by the late Bill Bryant RAF who was the navigator of that aircraft piloted by Bob Boorman RCAF. The caption reads "This Stars Stripes photograph was taken on 14 September 1944 and shows a Mosquito Mk XIII of 409 Squadron RCAF. Barrett was an American citizen who came to Canada to enlist in the RFC in 1917.1918-04-24: Barrett died in FK8 D-5024. He is presumed to have hit a tree in low mist and 4 bombs exploded; on patrol at Boigny. Barrett died, 2Lt Charles Albert Procter, British, observer-gunner, also died
