Eden's family were British citizens of the British West Indies. They left Jamaica and moved to Baltimore, Maryland after his father died. In December 1917 he travelled to Toronto and enlisted in the RFC. He was sent to Talliafero Field, Texas for flight Training. He was killed in a mid-air collision with another Jenny, while gaining his solo hours. The accident killed all three occupants.
