He worked in Canada as an accountant and enlisted in the RFC in the Fall of 1917. After flight training he was posted to 22 Squadron in the early Spring of 1918. Between March and August he shot down16 enemy planes and was made a Flight Commander in July. His enlistment records were destroyed during the blitz in WWII.
