576 Squadron (Carpe Diem). Flying Officer Watts was the only casualty when his Lancaster aircraft LM 133 crashed at Klostersogen, Sweden during a raid against Stettin, Germany. Three Canadians, FSs Laing, Clatworth, Flying Officer Hughes- Games, and three of the crew, not Canadians, were interned in Sweden. Flying Officer Watts bailed out but was killed when his parachute caught in a tree and he became entangled in his parachute lines.
