44 Rhodesian Squadron (Fulmina Regis lusta). Lancaster I aircraft L 7565 KM-V was armed with 4 x 1,000 lb. general purpose bombs and went missing, presumed over target, presumed enemy action. There were two aircraft from this squadron lost this same night and all the members of both crews were buried in the same cemetery. The thirteen RAF airmen of 44 Squadron who were all killed the same night are; Pilot Officer J.F. Beckett D.F.M., Flying Officer A. Gerrie, Sgt(s) J.H. Hackett, G.W.J. Hadgraft, A.J. Harrison, B.D. Moss, B.G. Seagoe, R.T. Lattimer, P.J. Venter, R.E. Wing, FS L. Law, Pilot Officer H.A. Peall, and Flight Lieutenant R.R. Sandford D.F.C.
