77 Squadron (Esse Potius Guam Videri). Halifax aircraft LL 229 missing during a night trip to Amiens, France. Five RAF members of the crew, FSs P.H. Armstrong, D.A. Cole, H.O. Hill, J.A. Taylor, and Flight Lieutenant R.G. Spicer were also killed. One other member of the crew, not Canadian, missing believed killed. Addendum: The squadron was based at Elvington when aircraft No. LL 229-Z went down, One RAF member of the crew, Sgt. I-1.M.
