77 Squadron (Esse Potius Quam Videri). Whitley V aircraft Z 6668 failed to return from bombing operations. Four members of the crew, not Canadians, missing believed killed. Addendum: - The squadron was based at Leeming when Whitley aircraft Z 6668 went missing during operations. Sgt(s) D.W. Mercer (RAF), D.G. Kemp (RAF), D.W. Gillies (RAF), and Pilot Officer R.J.
