Listed as Canadian Army - Engineers - transferred to the RAF. **S.L.** 1917-11-16: to be F.O., RFC 1918-06-01: at 107TS Salisbury, Marchbank was flying, his instructing pilot, Lt Kenneth Kennedy (British) was in the second seat. Marchbank stalled the DH.9 turning into the wind due to inadequate flying speed and dived into the ground. Marchbank died of his injuries. Lt Kennedy was badly burned and took no further part in the war.
