Manley was piloting Armstrong-Whitworth FK8 (B9502) when it suddenly turned over and Manley (the pilot) fell out. He had forgotten or neglected to fasten his seat belt. The aircraft crashed, killing the observer Lt. F.G. Montgomery (American).
