77 Squadron (Esse Potius Quam Videri). Halifax aircraft NA 515 was hit by cannon fire over the target and returned safely to England. Flying Officer Dye was wounded in the attack and died in the Preston Hall Hospital, Maidstone, England shortly after the aircraft landed.
