77 Squadron (Esse Potius Quam Videri). Halifax aircraft NA 515 was hit by cannon fire over the target and returned safely to England. Flying Officer Dye was wounded in the attack and died in the Preston Hall Hospital, Maidstone, England shortly after the aircraft landed. addendum 2: See page 204. The squadron was based at Full Sutton when aircraft NA 515-D was damaged. The other members of this crew who were all safe on arrival were Fi0 J.D. Morrison, FS.s F.A. Johnson, A.
