AC2 R Butler (RAF)(Nfld) was lost at sea when the S.S. Anselm was sunk. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Runnymede War Memorial and on page 148 of the Newfoundland Book of Remembrance with the remark 118 Sqn. AC2 Butler was the son of Robert and Annie Butler, of Galt, Ontario, Canada. Native of Newfoundland.
