1917-10-09: posted to 101Sqn, France in night bombing raids. 1917-10-18: Hustwitt was OK in FE2b, A-5563; FE2b] when he crashed in a field near Clairmarais aerodrome on an engine test. His air-gunner, 46349 2AM A Kincaid (British, not forename in record) was also OK. 1918-05-06: Hustwitt was missing in FE2b, C-9787; from a special road recce at Estrees Brie. His air-gunner, Lt Noel Arthur Smith was also missing. Both were later reported to be POWs. Hustwitt was re-patriated 1918-12-01
