1955-11-23 - Steven Matiachuk, civilian, was slightly injured by taxying aircraft while directing a snow plow used to clear the snow from around the lights on the ramp. T-33 was piloted by Sergeant Genestre who was unaware of the incident until later informed.
1955-11-24 - A fatal crash of T-33 21260 with Sergeant Genestre, French Air Force, as pilot occurred today with two eye witnesses who were flying in another T-33. This was Sergeant Genestre's first solo flight. The crash occurred on Lake Winnipeg near Heckla Island, about 11 miles from Riverton, Manitoba. Reasons are obscure.
1955-11-28 - Navy divers arrived from Esquimalt, British Columbia, and with a salvage crew proceeded to the scene of crashed jet to find the rest of the body and aircraft. This operation was televised.
