15 Squadron (Aim Sure). Stirling aircraft N 6047 was carrying 8,500 lbs. of bombs when it went missing over Dinant. Seven RAF members of the crew, Sergeants S. Bentley, I.L. Evans, F.A. Lamb, B.W. Wareham, P/Os V.C.H. Colbourne, H. Mohr-Bell, and T.E. Wootton were also killed. There were two pilots on board for this operation.
