Macdonald's record does not list a date of birth. I could find nothing in the public record for a Donald John MacDonald (or McDonald) with this service record. It would appear that he dropped out and changed his name post war. 1917-01-05: Macdonald, and his observer-gunner 2Lt H T Benstead were OK on the ground in Morane Biplane, A-132, when it skidded on the wood-covered pond on the aerodrome and swept under-carriage off.
