Served with No. 419 (B) Squadron, RCAF, coded VR*T. Failed to return from mining operation to Rostock, Fakse Bay, and Kiel Bay on 18 / 19 April 1944. All 7 crew were killed. Crashed near Nymindegab, Denmark.

This was Pilot Officer Gares' 18th operation.
