Boeing 247D (Serial No. 7635), No. 121 (K) Squadron, making a landing approach to the airfield at Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, May 1942.
The Royal Canadian Air Force took eight aircraft on strength, the first being on the 18th of June, 1940. They had all previously been operated in the United States commercially. The aircraft had a very short service life. The aircraft were struck off strength on the 2nd of December, 1942. Six of the aircraft were transferred to Canadian Pacific Airlines on the 1st of October, 1943 while another aircraft was operated by Maritime Central Airways based in Charlottetown starting in December, 1941. Registration issued to RCAF in 1940, for importation of civil aircraft. Applied to 247D, ex NC13343, bought from Pennsylvania Central Airlines Corp. Became RCAF 7637 on 18 June 1940. Loaned to Yukon Southern Air Transport in 1942, registered as CF-BVV. Kept this registration when sold To Canadian Pacific Air Lines in 1943. Exported in 1945, as NC41813, to C.H. Babb Inc of New York.

CF-BQS was used for a Boeing 247D, ex NC13318 of Penn-Central Air Lines. Became RCAF 7638 on 18 June 1940. Registered as CF-BVX when loaned to Quebec Airways in 1942. Retained this registration when sold to Canadian Pacific Air lines in 1943. Exported as NC41809, to E.B. Southard of New York. Returned to Canada in 1959 by W.B. Patrick of Calgary, Alberta, and registered as CF-JRQ. Donated to the National Aeronautical Collection in 1966.

Built in 1933 as a Model 247. On US register as NC13353 with United Airlines from May 1934. To Pennsylvania Central Airlines in 1937. Purchase value reported as $32,500. Temporary registration CF-BTC allocated for import into Canada. Taken on strength at No. 6 Repair Depot at RCAF Station Trenton, Ontario. To Trans Canada Airlines for overhaul, 26 May 1941. Reported with No. 121 Composite Squadron at RCAF Station Dartmouth, NS in 1942. On indefinite loan to Department of Transport on 21 February 1942, for use by Quebec Airways. Registered as CF-BVW around that time. Free issue to Department of Transport approved on 2 April 1942. Sold on 2 December 1942, one of six 247D aircraft sold by the federal government to Canadian Pacific Airlines for a total price of $125,000. Registered as CF-BVW to Canadian Pacific Airlines on 1 October 1943. Sold to Charles Babb Inc. of New York on 4 May 1945, registered as NC41814. To Zimmerly Air Lines 1945 to 1946. Reported with 16,922 logged hours in September 1945. To Empire Airlines 1946 to 1948. To Mexican register as XA-KAN in June 1951. Operated by Aero Transportes and later Servicos Aereos de Chiapas. Still in regular use in 1959.
