Took off from Feltwell at 21:00 in Wellington Mk III, BJ-701, on a bombing raid to Nuremberg Germany.

After completing the bombing run was in mid-air collision with Lancaster R-5897, the aircraft crashing together at Kalchreuth, Germany. All those aboard both aircraft were killed.
