First Burial

MacLaren completed a surveyor's course in Vancouver and later worked as a fur trapper in northern Canada. He joined the RFC in 1917 and had shot down 54 enemy aircraft by the end of the war. He was the highest scoring WW1 ace to fly the Sopwith Camel. He scored his final victory on 1918-10-09. After the war he became superintendent of Canadian Airways, and was in charge of operations for Trans-Canada Airlines in 1937. He was one of the founders of the Air Cadet League and was elected to the Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame in 1977.
