The aircraft was shot down whilst dropping supplies and crashed north-west of Arnheim Holland. The pilot, wireless operator and the air gunner escaped but the only naval casualty of the battle, who was flying as a passenger, was killed as were four crew and the two air despatchers. This aircraft was also carrying a second navigator.
