Trainees in the "Wireless Air Gunner" (WAG) stream spent 24 weeks at a Wireless Schoo learning the theory and application of wireless communications. This included signalling with lights and flags as well as radio. Their "WAG" training was completed with four weeks at a Bombing & Gunnery School.

Ex USAAF C-47A-60-DL, serial number 42-24338. Operated by No. 164 (T) Squadron, RCAF Station Moncton, 1943 to 1946. Moved with this Squadron to RCAF Station Dartmouth, NS in October 1945, still there in January and June 1946. With Winnipeg Detachment of No. 435 (T) Squadron by September 1946. Delivered to No. 435 (T) Squadron, RCAF Station Edmonton, Alberta on 3 February 1949. Took part in Operation Assinaboine, 14 November 1950 (6 plane paradrop at Camp Shilo, Manitoba). To Rockcliffe, for Photo Wing, late November 1950. With Central Experimental and Proving Establishment Suffield Detachment in June 1953, used to test spray equipment. With 412 (T) Squadron at RCAF Station Uplands, Ontario in 1961. Served with 1 Wing at Lahr Germany in the late 1960s. When it was sold to the British Ministry of Defence in April 1969 for use by the Royal Aircraft Establishment, it was thought to be formerly KG661 and was given this serial; when the error was discovered it was reserialled ZA947 in July 1979. Named "Portpatrick Princess". Transferred to the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in March 1993, now marked as KG374.
