It is believed that Warrant Officer Class 2 MF Lucier (RCAF) met his death by accidental drowning somewhere between 0500 and 1000 hrs 1946-05-26 in the Goose River, Labrador by being accidently thrown from the boat which he was endeavouring to take up stream. Warrant Officer Class 2 Lucier was a member of a camping party of service personnel who were spending the holiday weekend of 24 May at the Ministry of Transport cabin on the Goose River. At the time of the accident Warrant Officer Class 2 Lucier was not on duty

Warrant Officer Class 2 Lucier's body was not recovered, has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ottawa Memorial
